FAQ Answers
  1. Can I telephone for an estimate?
Our experts have found it unfair to customers to attempt to accurately estimate damages over the telephone. Although we always welcome inquiries, it is preferred that our manager actually see the vehicle in order to make a fair and precise estimate of damages.
  2. Do I require more than one estimate?
Only one estimate is required when having your vehicle repaired at Pelletier's Auto Body. Upon informing your insurance company that you are having the repairs done at our shop, they will at their discretion, send an independent appraiser to our facility.
  3. What does DRP mean?
Many insurance companies will suggest you bring your repairs to a Direct Repair Program facility or "preferred" shop. If, as a consumer, you are doing business with an insurance company with a recognized Direct Repair Program, you have the option of using their "preferred" shop or a shop of your own choosing. Often the "preferred" shop through the insurer will offer a warranty program backed by the insurer. At Pelletier's Auto Body, we work with all insurance companies and are also a DRP shop. We offer warranties and guarantees that exceed that of most other insurance company DRP shops.
  4. Can I choose where I want my vehicle repaired even if the insurance is paying and suggest I bring it to one of their DRP facilities?
Yes you have the right to have your car repaired at any shop shop you choose. A commonly believed misconception is that you are required to get more than one estimate when seeking repair work. This is not the case and there is no law requiring you to get more than one estimate. You are free to choose any reputable repair provider you wish. Your insurance company is required by law to pay the reasonable cost to restore your vehicle to pre-accident condition according to the coverage you purchased. Your insurance policy will specify what coverage you have. We will work on your behalf to ensure this happens. As with any program, the vehicle owner should make a choice of shop based on the reputation of the shop, certification and expertise of technicians and warranties offered.
  5. How long will the repairs take?
When you schedule your repair, we will give you a tentative completion date. It is a good idea to check with us 24 hours prior to completion to confirm that we are still on schedule. Your repairs will be completed in a timely fashion without compromising quality standards for the sake of time. If we anticipate major changes to the delivery date, we will contact you.
  6. I've been in an accident, what is the first thing I should do?
The first thing you should do is call your insurance broker or carrier. The next thing to do is bring your vehicle by our shop for a free estimate and inform your insurance company that Pelletier's Auto Body is your repair facility of choice. Our friendly office staff will look after the rest of the details and work directly with your insurance company on your behalf.
  7. Are you open on Saturdays?
Yes. Our hours of operation on Saturday are 8:00am to 12:00pm.
  8. Do you use O.E.M. (original equipment parts)?
Our committment to quality means that we keep you completely informed about all aspects of the job while we are repairing your vehicle. While we woule prefer to use new original equipment parts (O.E.M.) instead of aftermarket or generic parts (replacement parts made by a third party manufacturer), many times insurance companies will stipulate that these parts are to be used. If your insurance policy does require the use of after-market parts, we will inform you of this. If the after market parts are not up to the proper quality specifications, we won't use them.

Given the complex nature of today's insurance policies, the generic parts issue is between you and the insurance carrier. However, YOU are our customer and we will do everyting we can to work with your insurance company on your behalf.
  9. Do you offer loaner vehicles?
We will be happy to make arrangements on your behalf for a rental vehicle. In the case of an insurance claim, check your auto policy to ensure you have "loss of use" coverage. If the accident was the fault of another driver, we will work with your insurance company to ensure you have a rental vehicle while your own is being repaired.
  10. What is a deductible and whom do I pay it to?
A deductible is the portion of an insurance claim that is payable by the customer. This amount is paid to the shop when a vehicle is repaired.
  11. Do you offer a written warranty?
Yes. We offer a lifetime written warranty backed by Sikkens.
  12. Can the paint be matched exactly?
At Pelletier's Auto Body our technicians have been trained by Sikkens and we utilize only the latest technology in computerized paint colour matching.
  13. How long should I wait before I wash or wax my newly painted vehicle?
You should wait a minimum of 1 week before washing and/or waxing your newly painted vehilcle.
  14. Do you also do mechanical work?
Yes we do. We have a licensed auto mechanic on staff and we are a licensed MTO inspection shop.
